Vila Nova de Cerveira was founded in 1320 by the King D. Dinis. Historic village, Vila Nova de Cerveira is known for its strong focus on culture, in part motivated by its prestigious International Biennial of Art, which attracts many visitors and renowned national and international artists, held since 1978.
