The event took place on de 9th september at CIIMAR headquarters.
CIIMAR once again opened its doors to its scientific community for another edition of the Annual Meeting, which took place yesterday at its headquarters. Part of the “New Horizons” programme, the meeting reaffirms itself as one of the most memorable moments of the year for researchers, students and collaborators linked to the centre.
Dedicated entirely to science, collaboration and networking, the event brought together participants from various institutions, including the University of Porto, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, the University of Madeira and IPMA, reflecting the diversity and scope of the CIIMAR network.
The programme included a strategic presentation of CIIMAR’s vision for the next decade, showing the path the institution intends to follow in a future marked by innovation and sustainability. Also noteworthy were the pitches by recent PhD graduates and PhD students, who shared their research projects and scientific achievements with the community.
There was also room for updates on ongoing projects, namely those funded by the Horizon Europe programme and the FCT, and crucial information on new funding opportunities and Open Science strategies, which are fundamental to ensuring the continuity and expansion of research activities.
But one of the most inspiring moments of the day was the participation of alumni who returned momentarily to CIIMAR to share the professional paths they followed after their time at the institution, highlighting the transformative role of their experience at the centre.
