Throughout the event, a number of companies, associations and public institutions were invited to gain an in-depth understanding of CIIMAR’s scientific infrastructure, technological platforms and research areas, in an environment designed to foster strategic partnerships and opportunities for knowledge transfer.

At the opening session, led by CIIMAR’s Director, Vítor Vasconcelos emphasised that “this is a challenge we are setting for potential opportunities for collaboration in other applications that you may consider relevant”, underlining the institution’s openness to creating new synergies with the business sector.

Among the participating organisations are ALGAplus, A4F Algae for Future, Flatlantic, Sea Eight, Sonae MC, LIPOR, Águas e Energias do Porto, Águas do Norte, as well as relevant networks and associations such as the BlueBio Alliance, the Portuguese Aquaculture Association and the Portuguese Bioindustry Association.

The programme included presentations on CIIMAR’s key scientific and technological expertise, sessions dedicated to sharing research in key areas of the blue economy, and opportunities for networking between researchers and industry representatives, promoting the identification of collaboration opportunities.
