The bioMARatona 2026 is a citizen science event aimed at collecting and mapping marine biodiversity along the Portuguese coast.

CMIA Matosinhos has joined forces with the bioMARatona team to organise a guided tour of the intertidal zone to explore the biodiversity of Azul beach and discuss its main threats: climate change and non-native species.

This field trip will also serve to explain the importance of this citizen science project and how you can use the Minka platform to continue contributing to scientific knowledge with your observations.
