A fascinating journey through Earth’s history, told firsthand by cyanobacteria

The importance of cyanobacteria from the origin of life to the present day will be addressed. From oxygen production in the ocean, to the origin of algae and plants, and from the production of lethal toxins to their use in food and biotechnology, cyanobacteria are fascinating and challenging organisms.
