The exhibition will be on display at the São Pedro da Cova Mining Museum from the 6th of March to the 6th of May.
Through photographs, documents, and artefacts, the exhibition offers a journey through the interconnected stories of the Serras do Porto, the gold-striped salamander, and the São Pedro da Cova Mines, seen through the lens and experiences of researcher J.W. Arntzen (a pioneer in the study of the golden salamander) and biologist Daniel Santos.
At the opening, the documentary and photobook “Golden Salamander” by Daniel Santos will also be presented. Admission on the day of the opening will be free and will also allow visitors to explore the Mining Museum, which documents the history of the mines and the mine workers.
On the remaining days, entry to the Mining Museum costs €2 for adults, €1 for children aged 4 to 18, and is free for children under 4 and for residents of the União de Freguesias de São Pedro da Cova.
