NanoSpacer – Applications for the Sizing, Identification and Quantification of Nanoscale Entities Across Environmental and Health Sciences

NanoSpacer is a simple glass-based micro/nanofluidic confinement platform designed to facilitate the rapid observation and characterization of nanoscale entities using conventional optical microscopy. When combined with open-source image analysis and particle-tracking tools applied to image sequences or video recordings, NanoSpacer enables the identification, sizing, and quantification of a wide range of nanoentities.

In this event, several application examples of NanoSpacer will be presented and discussed, spanning health sciences, biology, and environmental research. These will include the analysis of extracellular vesicles (EVs), bacteria, nanobubbles, and nanoplastics, among other nanoscale entities, highlighting the versatility and accessibility of the platform for diverse research fields.

The event will include presentations by two invited speakers: Farzin Chougani, Staff Engineer at the Department of Physics and Technology, UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, and co-developer of the NanoSpacer platform; and Laia Hernández-Marco, a biomedical researcher and neuroscientist currently serving as Head Engineer at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway and affiliated with the Biophysics and Medical Physics Group at the University of Oslo.

Free entry, no registration required.
