Celebrating National Sea Day: “From Plastic to Microplastic: Discover, Learn, and Protect”

Engenheiro Fernando Pinto de Oliveira Basic School

13/11 – 8h30

Plastic is everywhere — in our homes, on the streets, along the beaches, and in the ocean. It represents one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.
This talk explores key questions:
• What is plastic, and how does it contaminate the environment?
• What are microplastics, and what impact do they have on beaches and marine ecosystems?
• How do they affect ocean life, coastal habitats, and even human health?
• Most importantly: what can we do to help solve this problem?
Through scientific insight and public awareness, this session aims to foster understanding and inspire action toward ocean protection
