CMIA Vila do Conde hosted an Erasmus+ group from French Guiana.

On April 8th, the CMIA (Municipal Center for Environmental Protection) of Vila do Conde received a group of students and teachers from French Guiana, who visited us through the Erasmus+ program, in collaboration with Mobility Friends. The group came to discover the fundamental role of the CMIA in our community, exploring how we work daily to promote the natural heritage and environmental protection of our county.

The guided tour took them to visit the three exhibitions on display: Freshwater Mussels, A Look at the World of Marine Sponges, and Elasmofixes. The group also visited our laboratory, where they learned about the periodic analysis process we carry out to monitor the water quality of our rivers and streams.

It was a great pleasure to receive such a different group from the usual, coming from another continent, with a landscape and climate so distinct from ours. This exchange of experiences reflects that concern for the Planet has no borders. Thank you for your visit and for the interest shown in our work!
