CMIA Matosinhos
As part of the Scientific Culture Week, CMIA Matosinhos will promote, within the school community of Matosinhos — specifically in the six secondary schools — six lectures featuring six researchers from CIIMAR. This initiative aims to bring scientists closer to the school community, fostering science communication and outreach, while showcasing the research carried out at CIIMAR in the field of marine studies.
Additionally, there will be a guided visit to the exhibition “Diving into Marine Forests”, which highlights the importance of this habitat for the planet and the need to protect it. The exhibition will be on display at João Gonçalves Zarco Secondary School.
For younger students, the workshop “The Magic of Science” will be held, featuring simple experiments using everyday materials. The goal is to help students understand how physics explains phenomena that occur in daily life. This activity is aimed at 1st and 2nd cycle students from Perafita Primary School.
