The Vila do Conde Environmental Monitoring and Interpretation Center (CMIA) is a municipal facility with administrative coordination from the Vila do Conde City Council and scientific and technical coordination from the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR) of the University of Porto. The CMIA promotes environmental education, monitoring, and scientific outreach, including its role as a Blue Center, to raise awareness and encourage society to adopt more sustainable behaviors.
