Title: Ecophysiological and transcriptomic response of two intertidal mollusc species to thermal stress
Name: Harold Casalís
Global warming has multiple impacts on marine systems, which interact with each other, ending in synergetic responses. This study aimed to build causal links between temperature as one climate driver to understand and predict the impact on two important intertidal species. While Mediterranean mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis offers shelter to numerous species on dense settlements, the snail Nucella lapillus as a specialized predator keeps the mussel population under control. Thus, were carried out manipulative test observe and better understand their responses to thermal stress and how was affected their interaction as predator-prey across a wide temperature gradient.
