The seagrass Posidonia oceanica forms extensive meadows along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea. This valuable ecosystem hosts a rich fauna and flora, offers important ecosystem services, and is protected under national and European legislation. Yet seagrass meadows suffer numerous threats and are often severely impacted by human activities. We discuss the visions of stakeholders with regards to seagrass transplantations as a habitat restoration measure after anthropogenic impacts.
