Course Introduction to Ecological Modelling

Organized by CIIMAR, the course aimed at teaching the basic theoretical concepts as well as the practical methodologies to develop and implement mechanistic dynamic models with a focus on aquatic organisms and ecosystems.

Divided into theoretical and practical lectures, lectures were delivered by researchers from the Marine Ecosystem Modelling (MEMO) team of CIIMAR (Irene Martins, Ana Costa, Alexandra Guerra) and by invited experienced modellers (João Alexandre Cabral, CITAD, UTAD; Isabel Iglesias e Fabiola Amorim do CIIMAR.

Students and researchers also got the chance to have a direct contact with a modelling software (Powersim software by Powersim, Inc).
