Organization
The CIIMAR is a non-governmental and non-profit organization with individual and collective members (University of Porto; Polytechnic Institute of Porto; APDL; Allmicroalgae; Flatlantic, Actividades piscícolas. S.A.; RiaSearch; Soja de Portugal; SONAE MC; Algaplus; Tintex; Oceano Fresco; NGC; Hydromod; Ecoinside) that constitute the General Assembly.
The Board of Directors supervises and defines the policy for scientific and technical activities and oversees the everyday management. The Centre has a Scientific Board, composed of all PhD members, which advises and monitors the scientific and technical activities.
CIIMAR also includes an External Scientific Advisory Board that provides independent evaluation and advice on the scientific activity, composed of three distinguished members of the international scientific community.
The researchers are grouped into three main Research Lines, which are subdivided into several Research Teams, headed by one or more principal investigators.
