In this talk, I’ll illustrate how our team at CIIMAR is discovering unique molecules and enzymes from organisms that we often come into contact with in our daily lives, for example when we go to the beach or for a walk in the park.
Pedro Leão is a Senior Researcher at CIIMAR, where he coordinates the Marine Biotechnology research line. With a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Porto, where he also obtained his doctorate, he spent time at the University of California at San Diego and Harvard University, before establishing his research group at CIIMAR, where he studies the chemistry of cyanobacteria.
