José Augusto Pereira is a Biochemistry graduate and a Chemistry PhD of Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto (FCUP). His research is centered on the study of biological molecules’ reactions (equilibrium and kinetics) using advanced nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. He also applies electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectroscopy, combined with quantum mechanical molecular modelling, to the elucidation of biological molecules’ conformations and configurations (stereochemistry). He lectures Biophysics, Thermodynamics and Biological Chemistry at ICBAS-UP where he is an Assistant Professor.
