ReDEFine project organizes the final webinar to present the results of the project, promoted by the principal investigator, the researcher Sara Antunes.
On October 20th, 2021, an online webinar was held to present the results of the project "REDEFINE: A MULTI-SCALE AND MULTI-TIERED TOOLBOX FOR ASSESSING ECOSYSTEM QUALITY OF FRESHWATER RESERVOIRS: BRIDGING THE GAPS OF THE WATER FRAMEWORK DIRECTIVE APPROACH" (POCI -01-0145-FEDER-029368).
The ReDEFine project focused on methodologies to complement the assessment of the water quality of Portuguese reservoirs, which took place over the last three years, financed by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). This webinar intended to disseminate the results obtained in the project's target ecosystems (Miranda, Pocinho, Aguieira and Alqueva reservoirs) and promote scientific discussion on several topics provided in the program. Several themes were discussed within the project's objectives, with the participation of 8 speakers and around 58 participants (from different academic and governmental institutions – APA, ARH-Centro, ARH-Alentejo, DRHI).
The feedback from the participants was very positive on the topics and content covered in the webinar, classifying it as very good, and extremely important in water quality assessment, namely as complementary tools to those currently used and proposed in the Water Framework Directive, to assess the quality of water in reservoirs.
