Raquel Castelo Branco is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher where she focuses on enzymatic chemistry and the discovery of new cyanobacterial natural products. She obtained her PhD in Marine Biotechnology and Aquaculture in 2024 from the University of Porto, with research focused on the genome-guided discovery of cyanobacterial RiPPs, including collaborative work with the University of Helsinki. Her research combines microbial genomics, synthetic biology, and biocatalysis to expand the biosynthetic potential of cyanobacteria and enable the discovery of new bioactive molecules.
