Cláudia Dias has a bachelor’s and doctorate in Biology from the University of Aveiro. From an early age, she developed a special connection with the sea, which sparked her interest in biodiversity and marine ecosystems. For about 15 years, she has been part of the CMIA team in Matosinhos, within the scope of CIIMAR, where she has been working in the area of environmental education and awareness, as well as in science communication and dissemination.
Her work focuses on promoting environmentally conscious citizenship through educational activities aimed at children and young people. She has experience in coordinating and participating in field trips, scientific outreach programs, and the design and implementation of thematic exhibitions, always with the aim of fostering critical thinking and the active involvement of new generations in protecting the environment.
Ocean literacy is one of the pillars of her work, reflecting her commitment to the enhancement and preservation of marine and coastal ecosystems, which are fundamental to the balance of the planet.
