Raquel Ribeiro grew up and still lives in the region where she was born, Vila Nova de Gaia. She always studied in the area, from elementary school to Almeida Garret secondary school, where she chose science. She later completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, with a degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Aquatic Biological Resources.
