The kick-off meeting for the EMPHATIC project took place on April 3rd, at the CIIMAR headquarters.
The project, which counts CIIMAR, DGRM, CSIC, IEO, IIM, Pelagis-CNRS-La Rochelle, and CIMA among its partners, brought together 18 researchers from Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy during its kick-off meeting.
EMPHATIC is dedicated to cetacean monitoring using E-DNA, Microbiomes, Photogrammetry, and Hormones to address challenges related to their distribution and health.
Concurrently, it aims to develop key indicators to assess the status of cetacean populations, in response to political needs.
