CIMAR-LA Seminar

With Cláudia Serra & João Saraiva

3rd Floor Auditorium, CIIMAR + Online

Fish welfare in Aquaculture: CIMAR-LA leading expertise

Fish welfare is a growing topic of interest in research, industry, policy and society. The science behind animal welfare encompasses five main domains: Nutrition, Environment, Health, Behaviour and Mental states. All these domains are covered at CIMAR LA with a high degree of excellence within our combined research activities and groups. In this seminar, we will address the Health and the Behaviour domains, showcasing the work of two research groups at CIIMAR and CCMAR and highlighting recent results and projects. We will integrate this knowledge in the broader scope of farmed fish welfare and all its stakeholders, demonstrating the leadership role that our associated laboratory takes in the European context.
Talks

“Development of oral vaccines for aquacultures”, by Cláudia Serra.

“Fish Welfare: an ethological approach”, by João Saraiva.
