With Isabel Iglesias & Paulo Relvas
Online
Physicist, Ph.D in Physical Oceanography at the University of Wales (U.K.). Professor at the University of Algarve and researcher at CCMAR. Research interests focus on Eastern Boundary Upwelling Systems, structure of coastal upwelling processes, mesoscale features, coastal and shelf oceanography, inner shelf circulation, applied remote sensing and long-term variability of upwelling systems under climatic change scenarios. Participation on several research cruises and implementation of ocean observation platforms.
Isabel Iglesias is an Assistant Researcher and Co-PI of the LOAI research team of the CIIMAR. Isabel’s main scientific areas are physical oceanography, atmosphere-ocean interaction, marine litter, nature based solutions, anthropogenic interventions impacts, deep-sea mining, extreme events, climatology and climate change. She works with numerical models applied to oceanic, coastal and estuarine regions and also with in situ data to understand present and future conditions, providing knowledge, technology and solutions for a sustainable management of natural resources and ecosystem services.
