SeaBee – “Norwegian Infrastructure for drone-based research, mapping and monitoring in the coastal zone” is an initiative to develop drone-based services for use in coastal and aquatic research, mapping and monitoring of habitats, animal communities, and anthropogenic impacts. By combining aerial drones and sophisticated sensors with state-of-the-art machine learning, drone data can provide thematic environmental mapping and targeted object detection. SeaBee aims to make environmental data available through cloud solutions to easy-accessed GIS (Geographical Information System) web portals, for free. To researchers, management authorities, technology industry, university students and other interested partners.
