Ana Basto holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aquatic Sciences from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences – University of Porto (ICBAS-UP) since 2014 and a Master’s degree in Aquatic Biological Resources from the Faculty of Sciences – University of Porto since 2016. In 2023, Ana Basto completed her European Doctorate in Animal Science – Nutrition Specialty, at ICBAS-UP. Ana Basto is authorized by the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary to perform procedures on animals, and her main research interests focus on fish physiology, particularly the nutrition of marine fish species produced in aquaculture.
