Ana Sofia Lavrador is a molecular biologist with a PhD in Molecular and Environmental Biology (2025) from the University of Minho. Her research focuses on eDNA metabarcoding approaches to monitor marine biodiversity. She also has experience at the science-policy interface. Currently, as a Junior Researcher at CIIMAR, she contributes to the BioProtect project by developing eDNA-based tools for mapping and monitoring deep-sea vulnerable marine ecosystems.
