Elza Fonseca is a Researcher at CIIMAR. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry (2010) and a MSc in Bioengineering (2013) from the Univ. of Minho, and a PhD in Biology (2020) from the Faculty of Sciences of the Univ of Porto. She focuses on nuclear receptors and endocrine regulation in marine organisms, integrating Molecular and Cellular Biology, Comparative and Functional Genomics, and Evolutionary Biology. She aims to develop approaches that impact aquaculture sustainability, particularly in bivalves.
