Luciano Santos is a young researcher with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Biochemistry, dedicated to scientific research in the Feed and Seafood Quality (LANUCE) research team. Currently, he is enrolled in the doctoral program in Animal Science at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS). His thesis proposal aims to explore the bioactive potential of hydrolysates derived from byproducts of the agri-food industry, to produce innovative aquafeeds with the capacity to enhance the robustness of farmed fish to environmental challenges and infections, as well as to improve the quality and nutritional value of fish flesh.
