Thomas Mollica is a junior researcher in aquatic ecology with a focus on planktonic and microbial communities. He received his PhD in Ecology from the Linnaeus University (Sweden) in 2025. His projects combined biogeochemistry, metagenomics and metatranscriptomics to investigate nutrient acquisition in phyto- and bacterioplankton. Thomas is now working in the UnderPressure project to investigate metal impacts on deep-sea microbial diversity and nitrogen cycling potential.
