Mariana Girão has a scientific background in marine microbial biotechnology and natural product discovery. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from ICBAS-UP, where she focused on bioprospecting marine-derived Actinobacteria to identify novel bioactive molecules with pharmaceutical and industrial potential. Mariana is currently working as a Science and Technology Manager under the BlueBio4Future ERA Chair grant in Blue Biotechnology and Bioengineering, supporting strategic research development, innovation, and scientific communication.
