“Mediterraneo” Photographic Exhibition

At the 1st floor of the Porto Cruise Terminal

“Mediterraneo” is a photographic documentation, carried out by the photojournalist Salvatore Esposito, that documents climate change in the Mediterranean area and its impact on “Human being”.

The reportage “Mediterraneo” aims to raise awareness through images among people who live in the Mediterranean area, trying to influence younger generations to think critically about climate change, sustainability, and how they can contribute to a more resilient future.

The reportage highlights how climate change affects traditional lifestyles and livelihoods, such as agriculture, fishing, or pastoralism, tourism, in communities that rely heavily on local ecosystems. The topic focuses on documenting how these communities are dealing with water scarcity, land degradation, or the loss of biodiversity.

The reportage can serve as a powerful platform for give voice to local communities who are often on the front lines of climate impacts, offering a creative and impactful way for their struggles and resilience to reach wider, global audiences.

The exhibition will open on 5 November at 16h00 and will be on display until 12 November. Access will be restricted to cruise ship passengers on days when ships are in port.
