Data Management and Open Science at CIIMAR

The ‘Data Management and Open Science at CIIMAR‘ course provides an overview of the fundamental principles of data management and open science.

Particular attention will be given to the data management services, tools, and resources available at CIIMAR, complemented by hands-on activities that encourage practical application. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with key platforms, including PANGAEA, institutional and international data repositories, CIIMAR’s electronic lab notebook (eLab) instance, and online tools for the development and management of Data Management Plans (DMPs).

 


GENERAL INFORMATION:

It will be a two-day event taking place on November 2nd & 3rd, from 2m to 4pm, at CIIMAR.

This is a free course designed for CIIMAR Researchers. 

The session can be held in portuguese or english, depending on the preferences indicated in the registration.

DESCRIPTION:

By the end of the course, participants are expected to be better prepared to organize, document, store, and share research data in alignment with current best practices and open science principles, thereby contributing to the visibility, accessibility, and overall quality of their research outputs.

Carolina Costa, a marine biologist with an interest in deep-sea ecosystems.
