With the aim to improve the oral communication skills of the attendees, to ultimately contribute to better, pitches, presentations of their work or other oral communications when addressing non-expert audiences, we’ll have a ‘Science Communication‘ workshop.
This workshop will be held on May 25th, from 10am to 5pm, at IPMA, Matosinhos.
It is aimed for the CIIMAR PhD students and post-docs (priority to PhD students). Other members of the CIIMAR Community can also participate!

Ana Mena, Head of Image, Communication and Outreach Office
Ana Mena has held positions as Coordinator of Innovation and Education in the MIT Portugal Program (MPP), and as Coordinator of the Science Communication and External Relations Unit, as well as the Public Engagement Unit, at the Gulbenkian Institute of Science (IGC). At IGC, she was responsible for institutional communications and the press office, and coordinated several science education and communication projects. Her work in science communication has received awards both in Portugal and internationally.
Ana Salgado, Head of Training and Career Office
With over 15 years of experience in higher education, she has taught at various national and international institutions. Ana Salgado has led pedagogical projects aimed at improving the quality of teaching. She has been actively involved in developing training for doctoral supervisors, as well as courses focused on transferable skills for doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students.
