The Sunset Beach Cleanup returns to Vila do Conde on 26 September for another edition dedicated to raising awareness of marine litter and promoting the protection of coastal ecosystems.
The initiative will begin at 16:00 at CMIA de Vila do Conde, with participant reception, followed at 17:00 by the beach cleanup. After returning to CMIA at around 19:00, there will be a break for a snack, followed by a series of multidisciplinary activities with the invited organisations from 20:00 to 23:00, including a Cosmic Walk.
The event will end at 23:00.

Sunset Beach Cleanup 2026 is organised by the Municipality of Vila do Conde, CIIMAR, CMIA de Vila do Conde and Counting Stars, with the support of the Portuguese Plastics Pact, Mar de Experiências, Águas do Norte, FOCA and DOCAPESCA.
The initiative is part of World Cleanup Day, the #EUBeachCleanup 2026 campaign and the European Climate Pact.
