Graduate in Aquatic Sciences (ICBAS-UP, 2007), MSc in Marine Biology and Ecology (ICBAS-UP, 2011), invited assistant professor at University of Porto, Ana Machado has more than 15 years experience in the field of Environmental Microbial Ecology. Her main research interests focus on environmental microbiology with relevance for water quality, bacteria dynamics and microbial antibiotic resistance transmission, and its association with public health. She has been involved in multiple (17) regional, national and international projects, being member of the PI research team in 2 projects. Published 39 scientific papers in international journals and presented over 50 communications in scientific meetings.
