Science – Art collaboration: Way to emotionally adapt to the climate change?

Dr. Aoi Sugimoto will present about her ongoing projects using arts and contemplative approaches as one practice of transformative ocean science in the Anthropocene. Participants will be welcomed to develop marine science-art collaborative initiatives together..

Aoi Sugimoto (Keio University / National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan)

Dr. Aoi Sugimoto is a scientist and an activist who explores the healthy and happy interrelationships among People, Ocean, and Communities. Aoi has been collaborating with the local community at the center, social innovators, transdisciplinary scientists, designers and artists. Through these collaborations she believes it will expand the existing framework of marine and fishery science, which should enrich intellectual creation on the ocean.
