Luís Q. Alves has completed his bachelor's degree in Biology in 2017 (University of Porto – Faculty of Sciences) and master's degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology in 2019 (University of Porto – Faculty of Sciences). Since that, he has been working as Research Fellow / Bioinformatician at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR – University of Porto). Luís uses and develops computational solutions to study large-scale genomic data, as well as to explore diverse evolutionary processes, namely the mechanism of evolution by gene loss.
