16 CIIMAR scientists featured in Research.com’s “World’s Best Scientists 2025” rankings.
CIIMAR once again stands out on the international scientific scene, with 16 of its researchers included in the list of the world’s best scientists, according to Research.com’s latest “World’s Best Scientists 2025” ranking. The selection recognizes the researchers with the greatest scientific impact at a global level, based on the frequency and relevance of citations of their publications.
The researchers Lúcia Guilhermino, Vitor Vasconcelos, Aires Oliva-Teles, Agostinho Antunes, Luisa M.P. Valente, Carlos Azevedo, Jorge C. Eiras, Carlos Vale, C. Marisa R. Almeida, Sara C. Antunes, Ana P. Mucha, Adriano A. Bordalo, Francisco Arenas, Elsa Froufe, Marina Dolbeth and Madalena Pinto are the names of reference for CIIMAR.
This recognition underlines the role of excellence that CIIMAR has been playing in the areas of marine biology, ecotoxicology, environmental sustainability and blue innovation. With cutting-edge research and growing impact, the center consolidates its position as an international reference in marine science.
In this context, the University of Porto continues to strengthen its status in global scientific research: with 155 researchers featured on the prestigious list, representing more than a fifth of the total number of Portuguese scientists (792) referenced.
